Mental Health: The Year of 2020

Writer: Lisa StrubeLisa Strube

Updated: Aug 5, 2021

2020 has been a unique (I know, I am putting it mildly) year for us all. Coronavirus happened and we had to isolate and adjust. Then, amid this crisis we saw injustice play out with our brothers and sisters of color through social media. This just added fuel to the fire.

As a therapist in Atlanta who specializes in couples counseling, sex therapy, trauma, and disability, I saw my clients needing even more support and comfort in this time of need. How could you not? So, what do we focus on in therapy? Now is the time more than any other to talk your loved ones about how you are feeling and what you are thinking. Also, be willing to listen because sometimes that's just what a person needs.

2020 has been a mess so far, but maybe we can salvage the rest.
