Yes, this is absolutely true. As a sex therapist, I always remind my clients how important it is to engage in meaningful and playful conversation with their partners. Remember all the good dates you had where you had mind-blowing conversation? It was a good date because you felt a connection with the person. You felt like you were understood, appreciated, and heard. I’m going to guess again that a lot of good dates you had were ones where you laughed a lot. A sense of humor is a powerful gift when it comes to dating.

An intellectual connection can enhance a sexual one. Just imagine going on a date and both of you vibe on politics, philosophy, music, and you’re able to laugh with each other.

This creates room for playfulness, flirtation, and maybe even a blossoming relationship. If you want a meaningful relationship, you probably don’t want to spend every single moment in the bedroom.

That’s why it’s important to know if are able to laugh at the same things and can have amazing conversations.

Sex is not just a physical act. It’s a connection of the minds as well.

So, start with engaging with the brain because knowing someone gets you and can make you laugh is the best way to develop a fantastic relationship.
